Looking for Alpha Readers for my new cosmic horror novel

I’ve finally finished the first edit of my new novel. It is a cosmic horror sci-fi adventure that follows a boy who was born on a colony underneath the ice sheets of Jupiter’s moon, Europa. This is my first time looking for Alpha readers so I’m not sure what to expect, but I figured I’d best give it a try. I don’t have many friends willing to read a rough draft of my book, so I need to find people that are willing. So far, I’ve found three avenues: Instagram, Reddit, and Scribophile.

I have around 100 followers on Instagram, but most of those are either friends or other authors in the writing community. I could make a reel with a link to my google form, but I doubt I’ll get much engagement from Instagram. For Reddit, I’ll need to find communities to post to. There are a ton of writing ones, and i’m sure they have one specifically for alpha readers. Scribophile, however, will take some time to get used to. I’ve never used it, and to get alpha readers I need to pay a monthly fee of fifteen dollars.

I’m hoping to get feedback on my story through a few alpha readers and then finish one more edit based on their feedback before moving on the final edit. Once that’s finished, I’ll try and query an agent again.
